Turn on the Heaters, Shut down your Air Conditioner. Its time.

As the holidays approach and the Turkeys find their way into our ovens, they bring with them the cold air that causes most families to turn on their heaters. As the weather cools down and heaters turn on, carbon monoxide becomes a greater threat. Without proper prevention the tasteless, colorless and odorless gas could possibly kill.
The Center for Disease Control said on average, carbon monoxide kills more people in the United States than any other poison. The gas has proven deadly to El Pasoans every year.
Gas heaters and gas furnaces produce the deadly gas. If your gas heater is not properly maintained every year you could experience this problem.
In order to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning it is suggested to have the gas heater examined by a professional at least once a year. It is necessary to remember never to heat up a home with an oven or a stove. For families who use a fireplace in place of a heater they are reminded to clean their chimney as often as possible.
Because carbon monoxide is difficult to detect most consumers do not notice any signs of carbon monoxide until they begin to get nauseated, and begin to feel weak. By the time most people realize the cause, it is too late.
Carbon monoxide is such a common toxic gas, that it is the leading cause of toxic poisoning in many parts of the world. When it is breathed in, the gas affects the central nervous system and the heart. This can cause long-term health effects that include erratic heartbeats, a weakened circulatory system, or even paralysis of various parts of the body. If a person is exposed to carbon monoxide long enough, death can and often does occur.
Just do it!  Get your gas heaters and furnaces checked this winter. Before you turn it on!  This is the time to clean out debris, change the filter, and check for gas leaks and carbon monoxide.  Make sure your heater is ready for the long cold winter.  Don’t wait until it’s too late.  If you don’t call us, call someone. Just make sure they have an air conditioning license.  There are many reputable air conditioning contractors here in El Paso.  Of course I think were the best. But I do own the company. Don’t risk your family over $20.00.
